Hello my friends, I have missed keeping up with you... I am at work so I have time to just post a quick note and not check you out....
Well, we closed on our house after much stress and worry. Yeah, now I am excited to paint, and Steve is excited to work on the yard...the kids are so happy about having their own room and the back yard! It has been so fun to be in a house that is ours. We just moved in this past holiday weekend, and it was horrid! Good job Steve on essentailly doing ALL the hauling, lifting and carrying by yourself! Even mattresses and box springs down 3 flights of stairs.
We still have no computer...probably won't have until after we get back from Indiana (we leave June 3- 10th, yahoo!). Miss you and hope that all is well!
Until next time.....

Withdraws from the blogs
Our computer died on us the other day so it may be a few days before there are any new posts on our blog. I have missed my past-time, I will resort to cleaning and TV.... Until then, happy blogging!

A session with a Pro
As a gift to myself, I had my picture taken professionally. She (the photographer) is calling her recent project "Mommy Models". I loved the idea. Sometimes we feel inadequate and flustered...just a mess much like our homes and, often times, our kids. I loved taking time to pick out an outfit and have my picture taken, so that I feel pretty... She is so talented and just a miracle worker. She is as nice as they come, and I totally felt at ease. I plan to use Emily Clark as my photographer for family pictures this summer. Thanks Emily for making me feel like a million dollars that day.
She plans to post all of her models' shoes on her website when she is finished with the shoots in June..there, people vote for their favorite shoes, and the winner get a free session with her...I'll keep you posted.
RED CREEK FOR MOTHER'S DAY
Today was just a nice Family-day. There was still the standard fighting and crying at times, disobedience and frustration...but it was, all in all, such a good good day. After church, lunch, and naps, we went to a reservoir just northeast of Cedar, called Red Creek. As Zac said when we pulled up,.."that's beu-a-ful!" The kids liked throwing rocks and making mud soup and enjoyed the dirt road to get there and back. The weather was awesome...and it is so peaceful and pretty there.
I hope that all of you had a great Mother's day..thank you for what I learn from each of you.

Fun in Henderson
Make a Smilebox slideshow |
I drove down to Henderson (just outside of Las Vegas) yesterday to see my good friend Tiff and her kids. Tiffney and I have been friends despite her family and mine moving miles apart a few times. We are glad to almost be in the same time zone and only 2.5 hours away. She is brilliant. I love and appreciate her perspective and friendship... and what a phenomenal mother of 4 beautiful and fun children.
We had fun at an awesome water park..that was a community park by the way...free. I think the weather was in the 80's and just gorgeous yesterday. We hit Sonic happy hour and made dinner while the kids played.
Tiff and I talk on the phone regularly, but it was so great to see her and visit in person.
Thanks Tiff, you are so good to me.

Derby Party
So we had our Derby party Saturday. It was a lot of fun. We were glad to have 54 people! Thanks to those that came or wanted to come. We had a lot of food, some awesome hats, great company, fun games and prizes, and the race itself was fun to watch.
Go Big Brown!
Lissa's hat was my favorite. I wish I had a better picture of it. She made it all from scratch- the bows, the flower arrangement, the veil, and arranged each individual feather. It was amazing. I told her that she could make them and sell them for Derby time. It was amazing!
We had fun. We hope to do it every year...
